WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES?

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

I take on a limited number of sessions every month so that I can provide the highest level of service. During busier seasons, be sure to book at least 4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. That being said, I will always do my best to accommodate last minute requests.

WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?

Your session fee is due in full on the day that you make the booking.

The session fee acts as a retainer to hold your session date and time. The fee is non-refundable, but transferable if the weather is uncooperative.

All artwork can be purchased separately once your gallery has been delivered – usually within two weeks of your session.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY FOR YOUR SESSION?

I can confidently produce quality images in any kind of light – my portfolio contains images shot under a variety of different light conditions. I generally advise my clients to go with a sunrise or sunset shoot, which is usually about 45 minutes prior to and after the actual sunrise or sunset.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER ISN’T IDEAL?

No problem – weather can be unpredictable. I always keep an eye on the forecast, so if there is significant chance of rain/wind/lightning we can reschedule.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE MY HORSE?

Have your horse looking show-ring ready—

  • clean nose and eyes
  • mane pulled (if necessary), or braided
  • Use Showsheen (with caution) if you plan on riding bareback!

Make sure your tack is spotless, and your bit is polished. Have a nice leather halter and lead, in addition to a bridle on hand. You can decide if you’d like your horse in full tack, or simply with a bridle/halter. If you’re unsure, have your saddle and any other accessories ready to go.

Additionally, make sure to ride or lunge him earlier in the day, prior to the session, if he tends to have a lot of energy. Hand walking him around the shooting location(s) will get him used to unfamiliar areas, if he tends to be the spooky.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? SHOULD I GET PROFESSIONAL HAIR AND MAKEUP?

Wear what you’re comfortable in and what makes you feel great! You can bring riding clothes or “normal” clothes; fun accessories (necklaces, scarves, statement earrings, etc.) can enhance the overall look. Try to choose colours that compliment your horse, or that match his polos, saddle pad, etc. If you would like to get your hair/makeup done professionally, it can make the day feel extra special.

WHEN WILL I SEE THE PHOTOS AFTER THE SESSION?

I will usually have them ready about 2 weeks after your session. You will be emailed a personal online gallery of your best images. From there, you can go through your photos and decide which are your favorites. You can purchase from me directly or through your personal gallery. I work with a professional printer, should you wish to purchase high quality art prints.
