Makaila and Risk
Makaila recently got back into riding while she was completing a Bachelor of Science degree at AU. She competed throughout her final year of university, and recently decided that she wanted to be more competitive – something she’s been keen to pursue since she was younger. Around this time she met her trainer Lisa Schultz, and through a series of events, she was introduced to Risk. A stocky 15-hand registered Quarter horse that had been a recreational western trail horse her entire life. At first they were just doing exercise rides, however Makaila soon converted her to English, and discovered that Risk displayed amazing potential: she loved to jump and do dressage. They were hugely successful, with many wins in their first year of showing hunter/jumper, dressage and eventing. Having found their calling, Makaila and Risk quickly developed an inseparable bond.
I can’t wait to see where the season takes them. These two are going places!
