Click it! Workshops – introductory offer

I often get emails about how I get my pictures so sharp and so full of colour – why and how they look so good!  I’m asked for tips, tricks and advice on which camera to buy, just to name a few.  So I’ve decided to share my knowledge with the world!

Moms and Dads, get ready to become intimate with your dSLR!

So many moms (and dads) are looking to capture beautiful, candid pictures of their children – they go out and buy a dSLR thinking “great, this camera was $800 – it is going to take such amazing photos!”  The point and shoot camera gets stashed in the closet and the new dSLR comes with them everywhere…and they end up disappointed with dark images, blurry images, blah images, grainy images, orange images.  Sometimes they buy the dSLR and never move it from auto…and this means that expensive, fancy dSLR is no different than their old point and shoot camera!

A dSLR DOES take amazing photos – but you have to know how to use it.  It is still just an instrument – there is still a person behind the lens that actually takes the photo!

Do you want to take aMAZing photos of your kids?  Do you want to really KNOW how to use all the buttons and function on your camera (well, most of them anyways)?

In my Click it! Workshop, you will learn:

  • basic settings, proper exposure (what exactly is ISO anyways?  and how does shutter speed work?)
  • Moving from “P” (or little green square) on your camera – learning your camera!
  • Focusing – learn how to NAIL your focus every time and get those tack sharp photos consistently!
  • Flashes
  • Lenses
  • Cards
  • Basic composition tips – what makes a great image?  Why do some make you say “wow” and others you just pass by?
  • Basic editing programs (that won’t break the bank!)
  • Practicing with a real live little model

Because this the FIRST time I’ve offered this workshop, I am offering it up at an introductory price of $50.  And space is limited to just a few participants.  Click it! will be held over two afternoons in February – dates to be determined.  Each person needs to have a dSLR and at least one lens.  You also need to be local to the Kamloops area.

This workshop isn’t geared towards people interested in becoming photographers…if this is more your area of interest, contact me about mentoring and/or a future “photographer workshop”

If you are interested, please email kelly@bbphotography.ca.  I cannot wait to share my knowledge with you – this is a dream come true for me!  I truly want you to get the most out of your camera and really take some amazing photos!!

On a side note, if you are interested in a more in depth, journey of self discovery, emotion and art through photography, (and learning to use your camera at the same time) you should check out  this Mom’s with Camera year long workshop.  (It is not hosted by me, but by Sara of Life Unfolding).
